Today, we’re seeing a resurgence of leadership at the local level. Folks who aren’t happy with their leaders are stepping up to take matters into their own hands. That is what makes America great – our continual willingness to work together to improve the country we love.
I am a diehard Republican — have been since 1948, two years after I got out of the Service. I believe in the two-party system. But I also believe in moderate causes that cut across party lines and represent not the extreme but the more central electorate. It is with this in mind that I support Trailblazers PAC, a brand new organization at least for me. More of us should try to pull ourselves out of the political paralysis in which we now find ourselves in Washington. One party can’t do it all. That’s not our tradition!
I got my start in politics by running for the Monroe County Legislature, and I won on my third try. Local officeholders have the closest connection to our communities, and Trailblazers PAC helps reconnect voters with democracy by supporting candidates who stand up for honest government.

Across New York and Pennsylvania, and across party lines, we’re ready to make honest government work for us, one local race at a time. Trailblazers PAC invests in candidates who walk the talk on transparency, and who raise small-dollar support from their grassroots.
Trailblazers PAC fills a needed gap by focusing on local officeholders, who affect each American’s day-to-day life. By asking local representatives to commit to honest government, Trailblazers PAC helps reconnect citizens with democracy from the ground up.
In my business and in Congress, I always worked hard to avoid even the appearance of impropriety. I commend Trailblazers PAC for supporting local-office candidates who strive for the same, no matter what party they come from.
