(New Hamburg, NY) – One of the candidates for County Legislator in the 5th district of Dutchess County (NY) is choosing to meet ethical standards that are higher than requirements the law sets.
Pam Kingsley, running for Dutchess County Legislator, District 5, is actively disclosing all of her campaign finances which goes beyond what New York State election law requires. Evans also achieved the goal of raising donations from a significantly higher proportion of homes in her district than politicians usually do.
Meeting this higher standard has earned Kingsley the endorsement of Trailblazers PAC, the national, nonpartisan organization supporting candidates for county or municipal level office who take proven action for honest government.
“My campaign is all about bringing transparency to county government and prioritizing the needs of our residents over pet projects that do nothing to improve quality of life,” said Pam Kingsley, candidate for Dutchess County (NY) Legislator (5th district) in the November 2, 2021 election. “I am honored to receive this endorsement from Trailblazers because they believe as I do that democracy thrives in the light and with grassroots engagement,”
Trailblazers PAC focuses exclusively on candidates running for office at the local (not state or federal) level, works with candidates of any political party, and will endorse on both sides of a given race if each candidate achieves the criteria. Candidates must also stand for honest government which upholds the U.S. Constitution and respects the dignity of all people.
“It’s very rare that candidates choose to do more than election law requires,” said Patrick Tepesch, Trailblazers PAC Treasurer and the organization’s mentor to Kingsley. “We are proud to endorse Pam because she is clearly so dedicated to working hard for her community.”
Unlike most political organizations, Trailblazers PAC places candidates who apply into an intensive mentorship and training program. With approximately 250 candidates across the country in mentorship over the years, about a quarter have achieved endorsement, earning the title, “Trailblazer.” Even mentored candidates who do not get all the way to endorsement emerge as leaders committed to honest government, with strength to run winning campaigns.
Now in its fifth year, Trailblazers PAC has reached millions of voters by mentoring county and municipal-level candidates in eighteen states across the country. The organization only endorses and donates to candidates running in contested elections, and since 2017, over 65% of these candidates have won their elections.
