(JAMESTOWN, NY) – Trailblazers PAC, the national, nonpartisan organization supporting candidates for county or municipal level office who stand for honest government, announced its endorsement of Tim Smeal for Jamestown City Council in the general election set for November 5. 2019. Smeal appears on the Democratic, Working Families, and Libertarian lines in the race.

With a mission of “Front Porch Politics,” Trailblazers PAC changes the game by challenging leaders of any party to act better than the current broken money-in-politics system. To earn Trailblazers PAC’s endorsement, candidates for county or municipal level office must disclose every penny in and out of their campaigns, make themselves accountable to their own voters by raising funds from households within their district instead of just from outside interests, and stand up for honest government through Election Day and beyond.

“It’s no coincidence that the bulk of my interactions with city residents have been on front porches as they share their excitement, pride and concerns about our community. Being a Trailblazer means I will continue these conversations and representing folks when I serve them in city hall. We, the voters, own our democracy, and we need to act accordingly, ” said Tim Smeal, candidate for Jamestown, NY City Council.

“We proudly endorse Tim Smeal, because he’s taking measurable action for honest government, by getting politics out of the back room and voters back into their rightful place at the political table,” said Leslie Danks Burke, President and Founder of Trailblazers PAC.

Now in its third year, Trailblazers PAC has mentored municipal-level candidates in Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Indiana, Massachusetts, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. The organization has endorsed and donated to successful candidates of different political parties in one community after another. Trailblazers PAC also offers popular “Front Porch Politics” workshops that have educated thousands of candidates, supporters, and interested citizens on local-level political involvement.
