(POUGHKEEPSIE, NY) – Trailblazers PAC, the national, nonpartisan organization supporting candidates for county or municipal level office who stand for clean government, announced its endorsement of Rebecca Edwards for Dutchess County Legislature, District 6, in the general election set for November 5, 2019.
With a mission of “Front Porch Politics,” Trailblazers PAC changes the game by challenging leaders of any party to act better than the current broken money-in-politics system. To earn Trailblazers PAC’s endorsement, candidates for county or municipal level office must disclose every penny in and out of their campaign, make themselves accountable to their own voters by raising funds from households within their district instead of just from outside interests, and stand up for honest government through Election Day and beyond.
“I’m deeply honored by Trailblazers’ endorsement, and proud to join a team of candidates who are working to represent our constituents and working families– not just the big money and special interests that are corrupting American politics,” said Rebecca Edwards, candidate for Dutchess County Legislature, District 6.
“Rebecca has been running a people-powered campaign that puts her voters first,” said Leslie Danks Burke, President and Founder of Trailblazers PAC. “Her campaign is getting voters back into their rightful role in our democratic republic, as the loudest voices in the room.”
Now in its third year, Trailblazers PAC has mentored municipal-level candidates in Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Indiana, Massachusetts, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia. The organization has endorsed and donated to successful candidates of different political parties in one community after another. Trailblazers PAC also offers popular “Front Porch Politics” workshops that have educated thousands of candidates, supporters, and interested citizens on local-level political involvement in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and elsewhere.
