Trailblazers PAC Endorses Bryan Barash for Newton, Massachusetts City Councilor for Ward 2

(NEWTON, MA) – Trailblazers PAC, the national, nonpartisan organization supporting candidates for county or municipal level office who stand for clean government, announced its endorsement of Bryan Barash who is running in the November 5, 2019 General Election to serve as City Councilor for Ward 2 in Newton, Massachusetts.

With a mission of “Front Porch Politics,” Trailblazers PAC changes the game by challenging leaders of any party to act better than the current broken money in politics system. Across the country, Trailblazers give voters the power to take back their rightful role by moving politics out of the back room, onto the front porch. Around these candidates, grow communities that demand and expect honest government.

To earn Trailblazers PAC’s endorsement, candidates for county or municipal level office must disclose every penny in and out of their campaign, make themselves accountable to their own voters by raising funds from households within their district instead of just from outside interests, and stand up for honest government through Election Day and beyond.

“Trailblazers PAC is proud to stand with Bryan’s people-powered campaign because he doesn’t take advantage of loopholes that could let him hide his donors. Bryan is a Trailblazer because he isn’t just making campaign promises, he’s taking real action for clean government while he’s running, and he’s accountable to continue putting voters first once he’s in office,” said Leslie Danks Burke, founder and president of Trailblazers PAC

“I’m proud to have the Trailblazers PAC endorsement recognizing my leadership on transparency and campaign finance reform. When I’m elected, I’ll keep on working to increase citizen access to local government, starting by adding meaningful enforcement to our requirement that lobbyists register with the city, and ensuring that all City Council and School Committee roll call votes are easily available to the public. People should never have to watch a two-hour video to learn how their representatives voted,” said Bryan Barash, candidate for Newton City Councilor (Ward 2).

This is Trailblazers PAC’s first endorsement in Massachusetts. Trailblazers PAC invests in candidates from any political party (although the Newton City Council race is nonpartisan) running in contested elections. Trailblazers PAC also offers popular “Front Porch Politics” workshops that have educated thousands of candidates, supporters, and interested citizens on local-level political involvement in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and elsewhere, and is mentoring municipal-level candidates in Colorado, Indiana, New York, Texas, and other states.
