(HORSEHEADS, N.Y.) – Trailblazers PAC, the nonpartisan organization supporting local-level candidates across New York State who stand for clean government, announced its endorsement of Michael Saglibene in the November 6th election for the Chemung County Legislator, District 2.
With a mission of “Front Porch Politics,” Trailblazers PAC aims to move politics out of the back room. Trailblazers PAC invests in candidates of any political party (even if they are running against each other) if they choose to follow higher campaign finance standards than law currently requires.
“Mike stands for honesty that works for all citizens, no matter what political party they come from, and it is an honor for Trailblazers PAC to stand with Mike,” said Leslie Danks Burke, founder and president of Trailblazers PAC.
Trailblazers PAC has a track record of successfully investing in candidates since March 2017, and puts on popular “Front Porch Politics” workshops across New York and Pennsylvania. The group has held 18 workshops for candidates, supporters, and interested citizens in far-flung locations over the past two years.
“As a candidate for Chemung County Legislator, it is my sincere intention to keep the needs of Big Flats residents at the forefront of county decisions. I look forward to being a voice for those not always heard. I firmly believe that with hard and honest work, together, we can maintain the positives this county has to offer, while seeking new opportunities for its residents. I am honored to be endorsed by the Trailblazers PAC.” said Saglibene.
To earn Trailblazers PAC’s endorsement, candidates must be: running for county or municipal level office; 100% transparent in disclosing their campaign finances (far beyond law requirements); funded in part by contributions from actual voters in the district or municipality they want to represent (rather than solely by outside or special interests); and committed to continuing action for clean government once elected.
