(BINGHAMTON, N.Y.) – Trailblazers PAC, the nonpartisan organization supporting local-level candidates across New York State who stand for clean government, announced its endorsement of Mark Bordeau in the November 6th election for the Broome County Legislator in the third district.
With a mission of “Front Porch Politics,” Trailblazers PAC aims to move politics out of the back room. Trailblazers PAC invests in candidates of any political party (even if they are running against each other) if they choose to follow higher campaign finance standards than law currently requires.
“Mark has dedicated years to serving his community. Trailblazers PAC is proud to endorse Mark’s campaign to bring his integrity and honest work ethic to serve as County Legislator,” said Leslie Danks Burke, founder and president of Trailblazers PAC.
“Since day one, my campaign for County Legislature has focused on a commitment to the community and in moving Broome County forward. The endorsement from Trailblazers PAC reaffirms that commitment, and demonstrates my intent to work hard, be transparent, and to apply the principles of good government to my public service.” said Bordeau.
Trailblazers PAC has a track record of successfully investing in candidates since March 2017, and puts on popular “Front Porch Politics” workshops across New York and Pennsylvania. The group has held 18 workshops for candidates, supporters, and interested citizens in far-flung locations over the past two years.
To earn Trailblazers PAC’s endorsement, candidates must be: running for county or municipal level office; 100% transparent in disclosing their campaign finances (far beyond law requirements); funded in part by contributions from actual voters in the district or municipality they want to represent (rather than solely by outside or special interests); and committed to continuing action for clean government once elected.
