(Binghamton, NY) – Trailblazers PAC, the nonpartisan organization supporting local-level candidates across New York State who stand for clean government, announced its endorsement of Heather Staley in the November 6th election for the Town of Union Council.

With a mission of “Front Porch Politics,” Trailblazers PAC aims to move politics out of the back room. Trailblazers PAC invests in candidates of any political party (even if they are running against each other) if they choose to follow higher campaign finance standards than law currently requires.

It’s an honor to be endorsed by The Trailblazers PAC.  They have shown me that politics is and can be accessible to the average citizen. We are not just “voters” or “taxpayers” we are all actually “stakeholders” in our community,” said Staley. “When we all exercise our rights as stakeholders to have a fair, transparent government free from special interests, we can achieve anything.  I will be your voice on the town council and represent all of my stakeholders.

Trailblazers PAC has a track record of successfully investing in candidates since March 2017, and puts on popular “Front Porch Politics” workshops across New York and Pennsylvania. The group has held 18 workshops for candidates, supporters, and interested citizens in far-flung locations over the past two years.

“Heather Staley came to our Front Porch Politics workshop in Vestal back in April of this year, and it’s been a privilege to see her ongoing commitment to standing up for clean government in her community. Heather is a Trailblazer because she decided to do better than New York requires, and make herself accountable to her own voters,” said Leslie Danks Burke, founder and president of Trailblazers PAC.

To earn Trailblazers PAC’s endorsement, candidates must be: running for county or municipal level office; 100% transparent in disclosing their campaign finances (far beyond law requirements); funded in part by contributions from actual voters in the district or municipality they want to represent (rather than solely by outside or special interests); and committed to continuing action for clean government once elected.
