(Rochester, NY) – Trailblazers PAC, the nonpartisan organization supporting local-level candidates across New York State who stand for clean government, announced its endorsement of Dr. Matthew Brown in the November 6th election for Trustee of the Village of Fairport.
With a mission of “Front Porch Politics,” Trailblazers PAC aims to move politics out of the back room. Trailblazers PAC invests in candidates of any political party (even if they are running against each other) if they choose to follow higher campaign finance standards than law currently requires.
“Government should create opportunities for all citizens, and maintain a floor below which we do not let one another fall. A politician bankrolled by big money, who does not practice transparency, will never be able to put constituents’ interests first.” said Brown.
Trailblazers PAC has a track record of successfully investing in candidates since March 2017, and puts on popular “Front Porch Politics” workshops across New York and Pennsylvania. Eighteen workshops have been held for candidates, supporters, and interested citizens in far-flung locations over the past two years.
“Matt Brown came to our Front Porch Politics workshop back in April 2017, and it’s been a privilege to see his ongoing commitment to making change in his community. Matt is a Trailblazer because he decided to do better than New York requires, and make himself accountable to his own voters,” said Leslie Danks Burke, founder and president of Trailblazers PAC.
To earn Trailblazers PAC’s endorsement, candidates must be: running for county or municipal level office; 100% transparent in disclosing their campaign finances (far beyond law requirements); funded in part by contributions from actual voters in the district or municipality they want to represent (rather than solely by outside or special interests); and committed to continuing action for clean government once elected.
