Political divisions seem to be growing bigger by the day, but some politicians in New York insist that people of different party affiliations can still find common ground. And with a growing number of extremists out there, they say it’s especially important for reasonable people to be willing to work together on areas where there is agreement. Republican Ed Fairbrother, the town supervisor of Big Flats, and Democrat Leslie Danks Burke, a former state senate candidate, are offering some advice on how to work across the aisle and find common ground.
