ITHACA, N.Y. – Trailblazers PAC, the nonpartisan clean government organization, yesterday hosted Front Porch Politics: A Musical Entertainment.
Written and directed by Rachel Lampert and performed at the Kitchen Theatre in Ithaca, the musical production conveyed the organization’s mission to support voter action in local politics through the use of song, dance, and humor.
“Rachel and the talented cast and crew shared Trailblazers PAC’s mission to make voters’ voices the loudest in the room, in a humorous and poignant way,” said Leslie Danks Burke, president and founder of Trailblazers PAC. “In the end, all politics is local, and all action starts with bettering the community around us. When writers and artists bring their talent set to the table, everyone benefits. As we kick off what looks to be a significant election year, this performance was a great way to showcase our political work on the big stage.”
“I was honored to work with Trailblazers PAC. We had a talented cast and crew who all share my belief in Trailblazers PAC’s mission. What better way is there than a mini-musical to introduce the work of this important organization? Politics certainly has enough drama to inspire a good show, and it was a delightfully challenging task to blend theater and politics,” said Rachel Lampert, the show’s writer/director.
